Hello, I’m Jerry.
As your Trustee, I will provide a conscientious perspective between the community and JCCC's Strategic Academic Master Plan reflected in the below stated Goals
Jerry Charlton isn’t just invested in Johnson County’s future, his family helped lay its foundation. As a fifth-generation Johnson Countian, Jerry proudly carries forward the legacy of his great-grandfather, Remi Caenen, who sold the land that became the home of JCCC. Now, Jerry is ready to continue that stewardship by helping guide the institution into its next chapter.
Jerry brings more than 35 years of hands-on experience in both white-collar design and blue-collar construction. That dual perspective is exactly what Johnson County needs to ensure our students are graduating with the knowledge and skills to thrive in today’s workforce. From transfer programs to career and technical education, Jerry believes JCCC should remain the premier cultural and educational institution in our county — accessible, affordable, and focused on results.
A proud KU graduate and Evans Scholar, Jerry knows the life-changing power of education. As a licensed Professional Engineer, he’s led complex projects across the country — and right here at home. He’s even helped JCCC cut millions in energy costs through sustainability consulting.
As Trustee, Jerry Charlton will focus on student success, fiscal responsibility, workforce development, and long-term planning to keep JCCC strong for generations to come.
A Legacy of Stewardship.
A Vision for the Future.
